FKSE’s regular event Közegellenállás commemorates and investigates the 30th anniversary of the Eastern European regime change with a series of special programs featuring an international panel and an interview film commissioned for the project.
The shift between political regimes was the catalyst for the change that profoundly transformed the whole cultural environment. The research of this era from this perspective is far from complete, because it is a long-term, fractured and conflicted process that still has implications for our present. None the less, occupying this perspective, our aim is to investigate the participants, artists and scholars of the period, review existing material in a critical and evaluative way, and thus contribute to research on the subject, and to explain to the wider public how the regime change has affected culture, even facilitating the material and symbolic destruction of cultural heritage.
